Resilience, Optimism & Action

Writer's picture: Steve JohnsonSteve Johnson

The way to foster resilience and optimism is to get out of our heads and into action.

Here's how:

Step 1: Acknowledge that what we perceive as certainty is usually more of an illusion than we realize or believe.

Step 2: Get as clear as possible about our current state and our desired future state. Call out the gap between the two.

Step 3: List what's known and unknown.

Step 4: List & prioritize what we have control over and what we don't.

Step 5: Take action on the highest priority item from Step 4 and do what you can to address it, act on it, advance it, etc.

Rinse & repeat.
